The Ona Group is a dynamic and diversified business group with a strong focus on hospitality. The group manages two Marriott-branded hotels: AC Hotels St. Julian’s and Courtyard by Marriott Sliema. In addition to its hospitality ventures, The Ona Group oversees The Ona Retail Ltd, which includes multiple retail shops across Malta.
We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Finance Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the company’s growth, working closely with different departments to ensure financial stability, compliance, and continuous progress across the business. The role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative, hands-on approach.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
- Prepare and review financial reports and management accounts
- Monitor cash flow, costs, and overall financial performance
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax laws, and regulations
- Lead and supervise the Finance and Accounting team
- Support strategic decision-making through financial analysis and insights
- Manage audits and coordinate with external auditors and stakeholders
- Improve financial controls, systems, and processes
- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
- Oversee the operations of the Accounting department, including the design of an organisational structure adequate for achieving the department`s goals and objectives
- Assist with the preparation of the annual audit
- Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
- Manage periodic VAT returns
- Supervision of all the accounting staff
Requirements:
- Strong and proven influencing, leadership, inter-personal and communication skills
- Previous experience working in the hotel or leisure sector
- A degree in accountancy or an equivalent professional qualification like MIA or ACCA
- A full understanding of financial operating systems and procedures
- Excellent analytical skills
